Please note that due to the high volume of interest in volunteering within the centre at this tine we are unable to accept any new applications of interest.  We will advertise any new opportunities when they become available.

RSPCA Suffolk East & Ipswich Branch relies entirely on donations, legacies and fundraising to continue their vital work!

Miss Rebecca Fox is our Volunteer Co-ordinator for the Branch, please contact her on 01473 623280 or martlesham.rspca@btconnect.com and she will be able to help you initially on how best we can match how you would like to help us with what needs doing!

Could YOU be a Volunteer?

One Area where we desperately need more helpers - House to House Collecting -
NEWS JUST IN....In 2010 Pat Monk, our House to House Co-ordinator, and her team of collectors have raised £12,620.28.    Although a great total, Pat is disappointed as she points out that it is some £2,400 down on the 2009 total.   Pat says "...we are in desperate need of house to house collectors in all areas of the Branch.." and adds that  "...the 2010 total is down not because of the economic climate but because over 40 volunteers have stopped helping with collecting this year, which has had a major effect on the total ."   Collectors can collect in their street, estate or road they don't have to collect in larger areas if they would prefer not to.   If you would like to help with House to House Collecting please call Pat Monk on 01394 284 605

Areas where help is currently needed - at our Ipswich Charity Shop - please call the shop on 01473 253420

We are always in need of more pairs of hands to help to set up and run stalls at our events - could you help put up a gazebo or two, or run a stall or help on the BBQ?   Please contact Miss Fox as above.....

THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF WAYS YOU COULD HELP US....
At our Animal Centre, Clinic, Shops or at one of our many Fundraising Events

If you have a clean driving licence, we need someone to drive our RSPCA van to the charity shop in Ipswich once a week, to deliver goods, remove rubbish, and occasionally collect items.

Margaret has been regularly  volunteering at the Centre for a few years enjoying her role helping out with the smaller critters.  She is fully commited to her role offering her time to the animals twice a week or more if we are short of extra pairs of hands.

(Picture above) Sue has been with us for over two years and has a particular interest in our cats.  Sue has been one of our valued house to house collectors for some time and she is really enjoying her role taking on those cats who need more of a 1 to 1 contact and a little bit of tlc.

Love gardening? Have spare time?
There are lots of opportunities to help us improve and develop the grounds at our Animal Centre.
Animal Help

Our guests need people, dogs need walking, cats need cuddling. You could help re-socialise nervous or terrified cats and dogs, or get a puppy or kitten used to people. We are looking for people to walk dogs during the week as well as at weekends, any time you can spare would be appreciated by staff and more importantly our guests.

Events
Perhaps you could organise an event, a coffee morning, a dance or perhaps a sponsored silence, walk, haircut, the list is endless ! From the very simple to the extravagant, every penny raised is most gratefully received! -
AND IT'S GREAT FUN TOO!!
Our RSPCA CHARITY SHOPS
A morning or afternoon helping in one of our shops a week would be a fantastic help.   There are so many different tasks that need doing from sorting to steaming, till work to helping customers.

Here at the Centre we like to get to know all our volunteers and are always looking at ways in which we can get to know everyone. This invloves organising social events, which we will list below....
